Day Care is not widespread in Egypt, but there are plenty of International Schools in Egypt with opportunities starting from pre-kindergarten through 12. grade. Education in Egypt is compulsory through ages 6-15 years. Upon that age education depends on the individual (and that of the family) wishes and abilities. Universities are also free in Egypt except for a small enrolment fee. Unfortunately public universities tend to be overcrowded. Private universities usually have a much smaller student body, but also much higher tuition rates. Private Universities are often foreign, including The French University in Egypt (UFE)and the German University Cairo (GUC).
