Health care in Barbados is divided into private and public. In the public system all citizens are provided with care free of charge. The standard of the health care is generally good, but transport can be slow. There can be waiting lines in public hospitals and clinics. The private is faster, and since foreigners will have to pay themselves anyway it may often be a better choice. Both private and public may charge cash immediately. Make sure your medical insurance covers you on Barbados.
