School is compulsory for Mexican pupils from the age of 6 to the age of 18. Primary school last for 6 years, which is followed by 3 years of middle school. At the age of 15 or 16 pupils start 3 years of secondary school. After secondary school apt pupils can go straight to university. All major cities in Mexico have up to several international schools.
