Mexico has an excellent and inexpensive health care system. Many larger centres offer first class hospitals, and a full range of health care. However, the gap between urban hospitals in affluent areas and rural medical facilities remains a concern. Outside the major cities, few hospital staff speaks any English. Life expectancy is 72 years for men and 77 years for women.
