The Czech Republic has an extensive railway network and rail lines serve all regions of the country as well as linking the republic with its neighbours. While highway development has been gradual, an extensive network of roads covers the republic. The economical growth and the higher foreign import/export rate have overloaded the Czech roads, resulting in long queues at peak hours. However, Buses and trains remain the common mode of public transport as they are relatively cheap and reliable, although the lack of comfort and English speakers can deter foreigners.
