Languages in Denmark

Danish is the only official language. Danish is a North Germanic language in the Indo-European language family. There are several minority languages spoken through the territory. These include German, Faroese, and Greenlandic. A large majority of Danes also speak English as a second language. Among young people to middle aged English is known almost universally. German is also spoken as a second language by a large part of the population.
