Compared to Iceland's small population, the expat community is of a significant size. This is no surprise considering both Iceland's natural uniqness and its flourishing business, mild climate and high living standard. Most expats, indeed most people, live in or very near Reykjavík. Prices are pretty high though almost regardless of your prior country of residence. Most contact between expacts is established more or less ad hoc due to the small population.
