Languages in Ireland

Irish (sometimes referred to as Irish Gaelic) is a Celtic language and belongs to the group of Indo-European languages. It is closely related to Scottish Gaelic. Approximately 40% of the Irish populations consider themselves well versed in the language. However, everybody in Ireland speak English fluently. English is a West Germanic language and part of the Indo-European group of languages. It is the dominant international language communications, science, business, aviation, entertainment and diplomacy in communications, science, business, aviation, entertainment and diplomacy.
