The preferred mode of public transport is with intercity busses, which in many cases are faster than the trains. Latvia has ferry connections to Lithuania, Germany and Sweden. There are no domestic flight routes in Latvia, but the international airport in Riga serves a multitude of European destinations and a few intercontinental ones.
