Moldova has compulsory education from the age of 6 to 15. It begins with 5 years of primary school, followed by another 4 years in lower secondary school. Students can then choose to continue education in the 4 year university preparatory upper secondary school or the more general 2 year upper secondary school. Moldova has one international school in the capital.
