Norway has a relative low crime rate and most of the crime that does happen is non-violent. The Norwegian legal system is, similar to what is found in other Nordic countries, primarily built on an outgrowth of national roots. There has, however, been some influence from the legal systems of other countries, although their influence is mainly limited to criminal procedure and to criminal remedies.
