Switzerland has a very low crime rate and is a safe country to reside in. However, there are some problems with petty theft in some urban regions. According to the Federal Constitution, the political structure of Switzerland consists of three different political levels: the Confederation, the cantons and the local authorities. Switzerland has a civil law legal system, where enacted or written law is the primary source of law. As in all other civil law legal systems, Swiss law is divided into public and private law. There are many multilingual lawyers and attorneys in Switzerland.
