The Swiss health care system is of very high quality with well trained staff and modern equipment in all hospitals and clinics. However, health care is very expensive and it is compulsory to join the health care insurance system for all residents in Switzerland. It can, though, be supplemented by a complementary private insurance. The average life expectancy is 79 years for men and 84 years for women. Almost all clinics and hospitals have some English speaking nurses and doctors.
