Public transportation and infra-structure in Israel

Car is the most popular way to get around near and in urban areas, but be careful when driving: Israeli roads and highways tend to be crowded and aggressive driving is a serious problem. Use of a foreign driver's license is permitted for one year. Car rentals are readily available. Bus companies provide efficient service within and between all cities and towns. Israel also has a share taxi service (Hebrew - Sherut), run by several private companies, depending on location, in addition to regular taxicab services.
