The United Arab Emirates in general and Dubai in particular has a very thriving expat community. UAE is the most Westernised of the Arab countries and the expat population is growing rapidly in these years, due to high investments in the finance, tourist and building industry. Although Arabic is the official language, it is possible to get by with English only. Actually only half the population is Arabic although the majority of the foreigners are non-Arabic Muslims.
