The United Arab Emirates has several modern highways linking the major cities together as well as connecting it to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. However, most locals and expats use four wheel cars, which provide more access to rural areas. There are several cheap busses for transportation between major towns and cities. There are no railways in UAE, although a project to link the individual emirates together is under way. There are several airports in UAE, of which Dubai International Airport is an important hub for the entire Middle East and one of the fastest growing airports in the world.
