The United Arab Emirates has a healthy economy with a high per capita income and a sizable annual trade surplus. Its wealth is based on oil and gas output. The recent expansion in business centres have created many job new opportunities for well educated expats, although the government is now making an effort to hire nationals instead of expats in many sectors. The best job opportunities for foreigners are therefore in multinational companies which are increasing their investmest in the country, especially in Dubai.
