Public transportation and infra-structure in New Zealand

The infrastructure in New Zealand has always been limited by the rough terrain and the low population density. However, there are good roads and rail lines between the major urban regions, but transport between the islands remains operated mainly by ferries and boats. There are also more than 100 airports in New Zealand, hereof half with paved runways.
