Languages in Brazil

Except for differences in pronunciation and a few different words, Brazilians speaks the same Portuguese as in Portugal. Portuguese is a Romance language and part of the Indo-European group of languages, which was spread through the world in the 15th and 16th Century as Portugal established a commercial and colonial empire. It is today spoken in Portugal, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique as well as some smaller islands. Although Portuguese is the official language in Brazil, English and Spanish are also spoken, especially in the cities.
