A large part of Guyana's population is made up of children even so the public school system in Guyana is not very good. Some private schools offer better education. Higher education is almost non-existent, this is both due to the small populations and the lack of expertise due to brain-drain. There is an international school in Guyana called Georgetown International Academy. The American International School of Medicine in Guyana is catering to international students also.
