The job market in Paraguay has traditionally been relatively closed for foreigners. The government, however, is working to change this. Good Spanish skills are still required for most jobs, though. The overall unemployment rate in Paraguay is still relatively high (around 10% in 2007), but has almost halved in the past four years.
