Paraguay has a widespread system of highways although some are in need of maintenance. The railway network is similar in need of reparation and is mainly used for cargo transports. There is one international airport in Asuncion, but connections are mainly limited to neighbouring countries. Fairly cheap car rental is a possibility in the major towns.
