Peru is a multilingual nation. Its official languages are Spanish and, in the zones where they are predominant, Quechua, Aymara, and other aboriginal languages. The most common languages are Spanish and, to a lesser extent, Quechua and Aymara languages. Some young people speak English, but overall most Peruvians do not speak Enlgish. Being able to speak Spanish is a must if you want to make your own way around the Peruvian society.
