Dear fellow globe dwellers!
Welcome to the second GD Newsletter of 2011. This time we have some good news regarding the recent growth of the Globedweller.com and request from you to remember to select the countries you have lived in. Finally there is an update on the Tutor of the Month initiative and a request for globe dwellers who wish to be interviewed to let us know.
Growth of Globedweller.com
As stated in our last newsletter, our strategy at the moment is to allow globedweller.com to grow at a steady rate both in term of visitors to the website and in terms of new members. We are fully aware that for globedweller.com to be a truly useful resource for current and future expats, we need to reach a critical mass of members.
We are pleased to announce that we are making good progress towards both of these goals. Globedweller.com experienced a staggering growth in the number of unique visitors to the website. In the first five months of 2011 we had 4800 unique visitors, which is a massive 130% rise compared to the 1800 visitors we had in the same period last year. In the first five month of the year we have welcomed 22 new globe dwellers.
Obviously both the number of visitors and the number of members still need to grow considerably, before the full potential of the globe dweller community can be fully realised. But for this we need your help! If you have international orientated friends and family then tell them about us! There is a very easy way of doing this through the following link (you need to be logged in)!

Globe dwellers please make sure you have selected the countries you have resided in
One of the main things that can potentially make Globedweller.com an extremely valuable resource for anybody who consider relocating to a foreign country is the possibility to contact and get advice from fellow expats already living in the country of interest. The way to find globe dwellers with experience from specific countries is either to use the table in the left hand side on the front page or go to the specific country using the country guide and use the list of globe dwellers appearing on the right.
HOWEVER, unfortunately a lot of you have not chosen any country and do therefore not appear as a resource for potential new expats in your country. Therefore we must urge you all to make sure you have selected the countries you have lived in.
It can be done very easily following the two simple steps below.
1) Log into the site at http://globedweller.com/user/login
2) Go to my countries at http://globedweller.com/countries and simple add the countries in which you have lived using the list provided.
Globe-dweller of the Month initiative
As reported in our last newsletter, we have this year launched a new initiative to showcase the expertise and expat experiences of our members, by asking some simple questions.
We have so far interviewed two globe-dwellers (interviews can read from a box on the front page), but as the name implies we would like to interview one of you every month.
We would therefore like to ask you to contact us at globedweller@gmail.com , if you are interested in becoming Globedweller of the Month. Under question 3 (what do you do for a living), we allow for self-employed people to advertise their business with a link from the interview to your web site.
We hope to hear back from a lot of you and will then be sending you the interview questions over the coming months.
This is all for this newsletter. Have a good summer or winter depending on where on the globe you are.
Any comments or questions are as always very welcome. We can be contacted on glovedweller@gmail.com.
